Lesson: Second Conditional (if / unless clause +‘d (would) / wouldn’t)
Teaching aims:
•
To acquire knowledge about the Second Conditional• To practice the rules of the Second Conditional completing selected exercises
• To develop their skill in speaking and writing English freely
• To participate actively and emotionally at the lesson
• To develop their ability of making their own sentences
• To speak freely about their own desires
Type of lesson: acquiring information
Teaching aids: copy-books, blackboard, and textbooks
Assumptions: most people are confident in using First Conditional so, the Second Type is supposed
to be easier to understand
Anticipated problems: this structure is not easily to pick up simply through exposure, and is
probably best learned through the conscious study and application of rules. So, the teacher should
focus attention on it through a series of written exercises.
