Numele Alinei Cojocaru, super starul de la Royal Ballet, este rostit cu un fel de veneraie optit pe cele mai mari scene de balet din Londra, New York i St. Petersburg, acolo unde corpul ei subire, amintind de cel al unei psri, pare s ntruchipeze tot ceea ce este mai subtil i mai delicat n lumea dansului, manifestnd n acelai timp o mare intensitatea dramatic.

Alina Cojocaru is treated with a sort of hushed awe on the worlds great stages, in London, New York and St Petersburg, where her tiny, bird-boned figure seems to embody all that is most elusive and delicate in dancing, and yet she has a vast capacity for dramatic intensity too.

La cei 32 de ani, Alina i-a petrecut exact jumtate din via n Anglia, dansnd la Royal Ballet, i consider Londra casa ei adoptiv. Nscut n Bucureti, a urmat cursuri de gimnastic din copilrie. S-a pregtit pn la vrsta de 9 ani n Ucraina, la coala de balet din Kiev, iar la 16 ani a ctigat o burs la Royal Ballet School.

Now 32, she has spent exactly half her life in England, dancing at the Royal Ballet, and considers London her adopted home. Born in Bucharest, she is one of two daughters of a market trader. She did gymnastics as a child and trained from the age of 9 at the Kiev Ballet School in Ukraine, before winning a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School when she was 16.

Cu toate acestea, tnra revenea la Kiev dup un an, unde o com-panie de balet i-a conferit statutul de balerin principal. A avut aici cteva roluri majore dar, dup o perioad de reflexie, a ales s se ntoarc la Londons Royal Ballet pe o poziie inferioar, pentru a-i dezvolta cariera artistic. Alegerea sa a dat roade. La 19 ani primete un rol cheie la Royal Opera House, nlocuind una dintre balerinele care suferiser un accident. Momentul este remarcat de criticii din lumea dansului. La scurt vreme, debuturile sale n rolul Julietei din piesa romantic Romeo i Julieta a lui Kenneth MacMillan i n clasica Giselle, anunau afirmarea unei ncnt-toare tinere artiste. De atunci, Alina continu s uimeasc lumea baletului, att n spectacole tragice, ct i n comedii uoare. n pofida carierei sale internaionale, Alina rmne o romnc nflcrat i foarte contient de nevoile rii ei. A devenit o susintore nfocat a Romanian Hospices of Hope (Hospice Casa Speranei), o fundaie caritabil care asigur servicii gratuite pen-tru pacienii cu boli incurabile. n aceast primvar, Alina Cojoca-ru a reunit o adevrat galaxie a starurilor baletului internaional n cadrul galei de la Londons Sadlers Wells Theatre, cu scopul de a strnge bani pentru deschiderea, n luna octombrie, a unui centru Hospice Casa Speranei n Bucureti. A fost asistat de partenerul su de balet - care este i logodnicul su - marele dansator danez Johan Kobborg, membru de onoare al Royal Ballet, cel care a rea-lizat coregrafia ncnttorului spectacol de balet Les Lutins. Stnd alturi de mine n studioul de balet de la Royal Ballets MacMillan, Alina mi-a vorbit despre interesul ei pentru organizaia caritabil Hospices of Hope.

However, the young girl was lured back to Kiev a year later when the ballet company offered her the status of principal ballerina. She danced some major classical roles as a result, but on reflection chose to return to Londons Royal Ballet on a lower ranking in order to develop a richer artistic career. It paid off. When she was 19 she stepped into a leading role to replace an injured ballerina at the Royal Opera House, and instantly Londons many dance critics took notice. Soon after, her debuts as Juliet in Kenneth MacMillans romantic Romeo and Juliet and the classic Giselle announced that a wonderful young artist had arrived.Since then Cojocaru has amazed audiences in a huge range of ballet, from tragic drama-ballets to light-hearted comedy, all around the world. But despite her international career, she remains passionately Romanian and highly conscious of her countrys needs. She has become an ardent patron of the Romanian Hospices of Hope, a charity looking after adults and children with terminal conditions and incurable diseases.This spring she assembled a galaxy of international ballet stars for a gala at Londons Sadlers Wells Theatre, to raise money for the project to open a hospice in Bucharest in October. She was assisted by her ballet partner and fianc, the great Danish dancer Johan Kobborg, a fellow principal at the Royal Ballet who choreographed a delightful ballet for her, Les Lutins.Sitting with me in the Royal Ballets MacMillan ballet studio, Alina told me about her interest in the Hospices charity.



ALINA COJOCARU: Este vorba despre o fundaie englezeasc n-fiinat n Romnia. Ofer servicii specializate de ngrijire adulilor i copiilor care sufer de boli incurabile aflate n stadii avansate. La nceput, a existat o echip mobil care se deplasa la casele bolna-vilor pentru consilierea lor i a familiilor. Este foarte important s pregtim familiile, s tim ct de mult conteaz lucrurile mrunte atunci cnd cineva nu mai are mult de trit. Un alt lucru minunat fcut de aceast echip este acela de a avea grij de copii timp de o zi sau dou, pentru ca familiile s poat lua o pauz. Este un gest care a dus la scderea numrului de copii abandonai de familiile care nu mai puteau avea grij de ei. Ceea ce e minunat despre aceast organizaie este c i respect toate promisiunile. Primul azil pe care l-au construit a fost n Braov, iar mai apoi, aflnd despre numrul mare al pacienilor din Bucureti, au nceput s contacteze spitalele, n dorina de a nva personalul cum s ajute pacienii. Organizeaz i cursuri de pregtire cu diverse echipe din sistemul medical, oferindu-le sprijinul necesar pentru a face fa unor astfel de situaii. I-am ntrebat cum merge treaba n azilul din Bucureti. Au gsit terenul dorit, l-au cumprat, au primit aviz de construcie au fost foarte rbdtori i determinai, iar acum primul etaj este ridicat! i sper ca pn n octombrie s poat deschide porile primilor pacieni. ntotdeauna mi-am dorit s mi ajut ara. M-am gndit s m implic n balet, poate la o coal, sau n cadrul unei fundaii, dar, vznd ct de mult sufer oamenii, am simit c sntatea este un domeniu care chiar are nevoie s fac progrese. ntr-un fel, m implic n ambele domenii, ntruct am adus trei elevi de la coala romneasc de balet s se alture galei. Este un pas mic, dar mi amintesc ct de importante au fost aceste momente n propria mea carier, prin urmare cred c le va oferi o experien favorabi-l, care va aduce un plus de vizibilitate colii de balet romneti.

ALINA COJOCARU: Its an English-based charity which started in Romania. Theyre looking after adults and children with terminal conditions and incurable diseases. At first they built a mobile team to go to peoples homes and teach families how to learn to continue being human beings in those conditions. Its so important to prepare the families, to know how impor-tant little things are when someone has not much time left. Another wonderful thing they do is look after the children for a day or two so the families can have a break. This considerably lowered the number of children being abandoned by their families because they could no longer look after them.Whats wonderful about this charity is that they really are doing all the work they promised to. The first hospice they built was in Brasov, and then they found out how many more patients there are in Bucharest, and started contacting hospitals and teaching them how to help their patients. So theyre also training teams to do it - to provide more jobs and more training, which is great in my country. I asked them how the Bucharest hospice was go-ing. And they had managed to find the land, buy it themselves, get planning permission - they carried on with such patience and determination, and now the first floor is up! And they hope by October to be able to open their doors to the first patients.Ive always wanted to help my country in some way. I was thinking to get involved in ballet, maybe in a school, maybe a company, but somehow, seeing how people suffer, I felt health was an area that really needed help to move forward. And in a way Im joining the two because I got three students from a Romanian ballet school to join the gala. Its a small step, but I remember myself how important those moments were in my own career, so I hope it will give them a good experience, and bring the Romanian ballet school name a little bit of visibility.

Ce impact au aceste aciuni caritabile asupra carierei tale?

Simt n sfrit c am un scop n via. Este vorba de conectarea formei artistice la o cauz uman. Nu tiu dac pare s aib sens. Este experiena care te mplinete cel mai mult. Chiar i n momentele n care, la ora 4 dimineaa eram treaz, scriam e-mailuri, fceam pregtiri de cltorie, paaport, vize, CV-urile dansatorilor, repetiii - chiar i atunci i vedeam chipul lui Marius, pe care l-am ntlnit n aceast primvar. M gndesc la el n fiecare diminea cnd m trezesc pentru c eu pot s m mic. Acum sunt accidentat, dar m voi vindeca n curnd i voi fi pregtit s dansez n proporie de 100%. n schimb, el are 52 de ani i de 10 ani nu poate s se mite. Soia lui l-a prsit. Fiii lui nu l mai viziteaz. M nsoea un reporter care filma, iar la ntre-barea jurnalistului Ce ai face dac ai putea merge? am ngheat. Marius a rspuns: M-a plimba prin parc, apoi m-a aeza pe o banc i a privi cerul. Atunci am realizat c, prin ajutorul acordat de azilul nostru, el nu va reui s se plimbe n parc, dar va putea s fie acolo, s stea pe o banc i s priveasc cerul. Scopul meu, visul meu este tangibil, deoarece pot s l fac s se ndeplineasc. Iar visurile i speranele acestor oameni se pot ndeplini doar cu ajutorul altor oameni. Nu mi pot imagina viaa fr speran, fr s cred c un lucru este posibil.

What does it mean to you, doing this, in terms of your career?

I finally feel I have a purpose. Its connecting the art form for a human cause. I dont know if that makes sense. Its the most rewarding experience. Even in the moments of being awake at 4am emailing, doing travel arrangements, passport, visas, dancer CVs, programmes, finding somewhere to rehearse, I could see the face of Marius whom I met this spring. I think of him every morning I wake up - because I can move. I am injured just now, but my injury will get better, I will be able to dance 100 percent soon. He is 52 and for the past 10 years he has not been able to move. His wife left him. His sons do not visit him. We had a reporter there filming, and the journalist asked him - it was so badly expressed - What would you do if you could walk? I froze. But he said, I would walk to the park, sit on a bench and look at the sky.And I realized that with the hospice help, he might not be able to walk there, but he will be able to be there, in the park, sit on a bench, and look at the sky. He also said he wanted some-body to show him how to make a page-turner, because he loves to read and he had just received a book he ordered, but he could not read it because all he can move is his head. But still he didnt give up - he ordered the book! He knew he would find a way to open that book and read. My goal, my dream is reachable because I can make it happen. And these peoples hopes and dreams can only happen with someone elses help. I cannot imagine what life must be not to have hope, not to see that a thing is possible.

Dac nu ai face acest lucru, te-ai simi vinovat atunci cnd dansezi?

Nu. Asta, categoric nu. ns, te bucuri de propriile realizri o vreme. Dar cnd realizezi c mai departe de att nu poi s ajungi, ce urmeaz? Cnd mi mplinesc propriile visuri, sunt mulumit, dar atunci cnd ajut pe altcineva s i mplineasc visurile am un alt fel de mulumire. Aceea de a oferi speran. Sunt romnc i am fost ntotdeauna romnc, la bine i la ru. Locuind aici, n Londra, devin un altfel de romn. De la vrsta de 9 ani am locuit la Kiev, iar la 16 ani am venit la Londra. Da, am devenit o londonez. Am locuit aici mai mult dect n Romnia. Dorul de cas e...ei bine, nu de cas mi este dor, ci de familia mea. De mama mea, de sora mea i de tatl meu. i de nepoata mea care are puin peste 6 ani.

Povestete-mi despre prinii ti i sunt apropiai sau aces-te cltorii te-au mai ndeprtat de ei?

Cretem alturi de ei, apoi devenim rebeli, ca mai apoi s ne rentoarcem, nu-i aa? Cred c asta am fcut i eu, fr s mi dau seama. i mpari viaa cu ei, ca apoi s te separi. n cazul nostru, noi am fost primii copii romni care prseau Romnia, primii copii care aveau un paaport ce le permitea s plece din ar. Eram foarte ataat de prini, i mama a fost speriat. n fiecare duminic cnd eram la Kiev obinuiam s o sun pe mama i ea m nteba, Eti bine sau vrei s te ntorci acas? Mi-a pus aceast ntrebare timp de 5 ani. Imagineaz-i un printe lundu-i rmas bun de la copilul su ntr-o lume care, pe vremea aceea, nu era foarte deschis. Era o decizie foarte grea pentru o mam. Cnd au aflat despre audiia pentru Kiev, eu eram la ar, iar prinii mei au cltorit toat noaptea ca s m aduc de acolo pentru a putea participa. Cnd am fost aleas s merg la coala de balet de la Kiev, sentimentul pe care l-am trit a fost: ncearc, iar dac nu i va plcea te vei ntoarce napoi, acas.

Without doing this, you felt guilty about dancing?

No. Absolutely not. You enjoy your own achievements for a while. But you realize if you cant do more with it, whats next? When I achieve my own dreams, I have one reward, but to help someone achieve their dreams, its another reward. To give hope. I am Romanian, and always have been Romanian in good times and bad times. I became a different Romanian person by living here in London. From the age of nine I was in Kiev, and at 16 I came to London. I became, yes, a Londoner. Ive lived here more than I have in Romania. Homesickness is... well, I dont miss my home, its my family I miss. My mum, and my sister, and my dad. And my niece who is now six and a bit.

Tell me about your parents - are you still close to them or did all this travelling take you away?

Dont we grow with them, then rebel, then come back to them? I think thats what I did, without planning it. You share your life with them then grow away. For us, we were the first Romanian children to leave Romania, the first children to have a passport to leave. I was very much attached to them, and my mum was terrified. Every Sunday in Kiev when I would pick up the phone to my mother, she would ask me, Are you happy or do you want to come home? She asked me that for five years. When you imagine a parent saying good-bye, the world was not so open and back then it was one of the hardest decisions for a mother. When they were told about the audition for Kiev, I was in the countryside, and my parents travelled all night to pick me up and drive me back so I could take part in that audition. And when I was chosen to go to Kiev ballet school, I think the feeling was, try, and if you dont like it come back home.

Cnd i-ai dat seama c exerciiile zilnice, de la cursuri, aveau s devin visul tu?

Am avut acest sentiment cnd ne-au dus s privim spectacolul Giselle. Atunci am neles: Ah, nu este vorba doar despre a exersa la bara de balet, ci despre emoii, primim o poveste i ne implicm n ea. Nici nu mai vzusem un spectacol de balet nainte de asta. i spun ce mi-a plcut. Mi-au plcut profesorii care mi spuneau, Bine i munceam pentru acest bine n fiecare zi. Fr s tiu ce descopeream ncet c puteam s fac ceva bine. Apoi am nceput s devin pasionat, i aprecierile nu au mai fost singurul scop, doream s merg mai departe, s descopr ce nseamn acest bine.

Atunci cnd dansezi n ntreaga lume, poi avea rdcini?

Nu neaprat. Cnd sunt pe scen, aceea e casa mea. i asta m ajut s evoluez pe att de multe scene, faptul c m simt Acas. n cltoriile mele, lucrurile constante sunt lumina, compania, scena indiferent unde m-a afla. Cred c atta vreme ct exist un teatru, sunt oriunde acas!

Te vei cstori cu Johan [Kobborg]?

Ne-am propus s ne cstorim peste doi ani. Dac pot s m bu-cur de o petrecere i de rochia alb, de ce nu? Dar e o chestiune de timp. Poate prea amuzant, ns am ncercat ntr-o var s reunesc ambele familii ntr-un weekend, s se cunoasc i s se relaxeze, ns nu am reuit. Se pare c suntem toi foarte ocupai n momentul de fa. Iar apoi, trebuie s-i reuneti pe toi, i Londra e scump...

i doreti copii ?

Foarte mult.

Without doing this, you felt guilty about dancing?When did you realize that what you were doing in that daily drill in class would be your dream?

I have a feeling it was when we were taken to watch Giselle. Thats when I realized, Oh, we dont just stay at the barre, its an emotional thing, we get a story, we get involved. Id never even seen a ballet before.I tell you what I liked. I liked the teachers saying to me, Good. And I worked for that good every day. Not knowing what - slowly discovering that I could do something well. And then I became passionate about it, and the goods were not the only aim, it was about going further, to understanding what good is.

When you dance around the world, do you have roots?

Not necessarily. When I go on stage that is home. And thats what helps me go into a different theatre and go on stage, that is Home. The stable thing in my journey is the light, the company, the stage - regardless for where it it, that is my reason for being in a different place. I think as long as the place has a theatre, I am home!

Are you going to marry Johan [Kobborg]?

Care sunt, acum, provocrile balerinei Alina Cojocaru?

Mi-ar plcea foarte mult s evoluez n piese clasice. Atunci cnd revin de la Manon al lui MacMillan sau de la Las Hermanas la un spectacol clasic, descopr n el lucruri noi. E ca atunci cnd reciteti o carte. i cred, de asemenea, c a fi parte din procesul creativ al unei piese noi este pentru mine cel mai spectaculos lucru. Mi-a plcut foarte mult s lucrez cu Alexei Ratmansky la noile sale creaii de la Royal Ballet, iar faptul c am dansat n Lady of the Camellias cu John Neumeier a fost o experien unic. Este minunat colaborarea dintre un coregraf care are propria viziune precum Kim Brandstrup sau Neumeier i mine, care i neleg viziunea, iar mpreun facem ca lucrurile s se ntmple. Este mult mai frumos dect s mergi la studio pentru un solo n Lacul Lebe-delor, ncercnd s gseti ceva care s mprospteze piesa. Asta pentru c a pstra tradiia i a o transmite mai departe, adaptnd-o n acelai timp la nou, nu este tocmai uor.

Foloseti cuvinte ajuttoare?

Da, mi se pare uor s suprapun cuvintele peste pai. Dac lucrez la ceva ce nu tiu s exprim, ncep s mi spun cuvinte i atunci totul devine natural. Pentru Lacul Lebedelor nu folosesc cuvinte. n spectacolele clasice mimica este foarte evident, sunt lacrimile mamei.

Spre exemplu, n Frumoasa din Pdurea Adormit, pentru le grand pas de deux de la final, foloseti cuvinte?

Da, tot timpul cuvinte. Sunt contient c urmeaz s fiu ncoro-nat, am responsabilitatea fa de prinii mei de a-i face mndri de mine, vreau s le art c sunt suficient de matur pentru a-mi lua rolul n serios. Descopr c sunt norocoas c l-am ntlnit pe acest biat care m-a trezit cu un srut. Deci m ncarc din iubire, de la pas de deux. Tot ceea ce facem mpreun prin acel pas de deux mi depete ateptrile, iar acest lucru m face mai puternic dect credeam c pot s fiu. Cred c totul se rezum la modul n care aleg s iubesc.

What would challenge you now as a ballerina?

I do love performing the classics very much. Going back from MacMillans Manon to a classic or from Las Hermanas to a clas-sic, I see different things in it. It is like reading a book again. And I also think being part of the creative process in new work at the moment seems to be the most exciting thing for me - I absolutely loved working with Alexei Ratmansky on his new Royal Ballet creation, and I had the unique experience of danc-ing Lady of the Camellias with John Neumeier. What is wonder-ful is the collaboration between a choreographer having his vision - like Kim Brandstrup or Neumeier - and me understand-ing his vision, and together making it happen. It is much more wonderful than going to the studio and the Swan Lake solo and trying to find something to make it fresh again. Its because to deliver tradition and yet somehow make it look fresh is not always easy.

Do you use words to help you?

Yes, I find it easy to see words in steps. If I start doing something that I dont know how to express, I start saying words to myself and then it becomes natural. For Swan Lake I dont use words. In classics the mimes are very clear, its my mothers tears.

But lets say, The Sleeping Beauty, the grand pas de deux at the end? You use words?

Yes, words all the time. I am aware that I am to wear the crown, I have the responsibility to my parents to make them proud, I want to show them I am mature enough to take this role on board. I am discovering that I am lucky to like this guy who hap-pened to kiss me and wake me up. So I take strength from the love, from the pas de deux. Everything I do with him in the pas de deux together is becoming more than I expected, which I realise gives me the strength to do what I doubted I could. It seems to me its about how I choose to love.

Informaii de la Hospice Casa Speranei (apel ctre antreprenori)

Construcia azilului din Bucureti a nceput n octombrie 2012 i ar trebui

s fie terminat n acest an, n luna august. Avem nevoie de ajutorul

dumneavoastr pentru finalizarea lucrrilor construciei. Azilul va avea

20 de paturi pentru aduli i 10 pentru copii. Terenul i cldirile pentru

construcia azilului pentru copiii bolnavi au fost donate de o familie

din Romnia. Acestea vor fi folosite drept tabr de var pentru copiii

pacienilor, n august 2013.

Information from Hospices of Hope (appeal to patrons)

Construction of the Bucharest hospice started in October 2012, and the

building should be complete in August this year, but we need your help to

pay for the construction of the building. The Hospice will have 20 beds for

adults and 10 for children. A site and buildings for the childrens inpatient

hospice has been donated by a Romanian family. This will be used as a

Summer Camp for children of patients in August 2013.

De zece ani, pe trmul magic unde Dunrea ntlnete Marea Neagr, n localitatea Sfntu Gheorghe, are loc unul dintre cele mai frumoase festivaluri din Romnia: Festivalul Internaional de Film Independent Anonimul, sau, cum il alint organizatorii, festivalul pe nisip cu un singur VIP publicul. Pe malul unui bra de ap acoperit de nuferi, printre egrete i pelicani, iubitorii de film i vacane boeme - actori, regizori, cinefili - se ntlnesc n fiecare an s vad filme noi, s discute despre proiecte viitoare i s se bucure de privelitile superbe pe care doar Delta Dunrii le poate oferi.

During the last ten years, on the magic land where the Danube meets the Black Sea, in the locality of Sfntu Gheorghe, there takes place one of the most beautiful festivals in Romania: The Independent Film Festival Anonymous, or the sand festival with only one VIP the public, as pampered by its organizers. On the branch of the river covered by lilies, among egrets and pelicans, the film and bohemian holiday lovers the actors, the directors, and the film lovers meet every year to see new movies, to discuss about future projects and to enjoy the beautiful landscapes that only the Danube Delta can offer.

La nivel mondial, cel mai cunoscut festival dedicat filmului independent este organizat an de an la Sundance, n America de Nord. Evenimentul i-a inspirat pe membrii Fundaiei Anonimul, care au creat, ncepnd cu anul 2003, o replic romneasc pe meleaguri dobrogene. Ne-am dorit i n Romnia un festival de film deosebit, prin care s promovm filme independente, regizori tineri, un Sundance romnesc, spun organizatorii. Cu 10 ani n urm, prima ediie a festivalului debuta cu docu-mentarul Ocolul Pmntului n 80 de zile, jurnalul unei cltorii de peste 150.000 km ntreprins de organizatori pe cinci continente, cu scopul de a invita oameni din lumea filmului internaional la Sfntul Gheorghe, i de a populariza Festivalul i Delta Dunrii. Worldwide, the best known festival dedicated to the independent film is organized every year at Sundance, in North America. The event inspired the members of the Anonymous Foundation, who created a special film festival, meant to promote the independent films, as well as young directors, a Romanian Sundance, as the organizers call it. Ten years ago, the first edition of the festival debuted with the documentary Around the World in 80 Days, the journal of a journey of more than 150.000 kilometers made by organizers on five continents, with the purpose of inviting people from the world of the international film at Sfntul Gheorghe, and to popularize the Festival and the Danube Delta. The festival`s program also has three competitive sections: feature, short fiction and short animation.In 2012, following the public vote, the trophy Anonymous 2012 was awarded to the Romanian feature Everyone in our Family, directed by Radu Jude, reconfirmed during the Gopo awards this year (considered to be the Oscars of the Romanian cinematography) with no less than six trophies, among which the award for The best film. From year to year the festival has developed. It has attracted new lovers of the seventh art. Films that the public can`t see in the cinema rooms can be watched at one step from the sea, the feet in the sand. We do our best to bring films in premiere, films that the public can`t see elsewhere, which can`t be seen in the cinemas. Our films are challenging, interesting, sometimes on the edge; they can be liked or disliked, but they will not let the spectator indifferent. La prnz, localnicii se ascund la umbr sau n case, pentru a scpa de vipia soarelui extrem de puternic, iar seara povestesc n jurul focurilor. Turitii se vor bucura de natura slbatic, de plajele linitite, de pacea din jur. Fr s exagerez, pot spune c niciunul dintre invitaii notri din strintate nu se ateapt s ajung ntr-un astfel de loc, oricte poze i detalii le-am trimite nainte. The Danube meets here, through sinuous arms, covered by lilies, the sea. Time passes slowly, the existence is calm, and you can boat on channels or walk in horse-drawn carts on sandy roads. At lunch time, the locals hide at shadows or in their homes, to get rid of the sun heat, and during evening they talk around fires. The tourists will enjoy the wild nature, the calm beaches, and the surrounding peace.Without exaggerating, I can say that none of our guests from abroad expects to arrive at such a place, no matter how many pictures or details we could sent them in advance. There are also many Romanians who come to the Delta for the first time during the Festivals, and who were impresses. It is, indeed, a magic place, confesses Miruna Berescu.



Indiferent de modalitatea de cazare pe care o vei alege, v asigurm c petele nu va lipsi din meniul zilnic. Delta Dunrii este a doua mare zon umed a Europei, dup Delta Volgi. Apele Dunrii au format aici canale mari i mici, lacuri, jape i mlatini n care se gsete pete din plin. De la tiucile agile la somnii imeni, petii sunt principala surs de hran a localnicilor. Iar deltaicii sunt extrem de pricepui n prepararea petelui din care pot gti absolut orice: de la scordoleaua cu usturoi din belug la borul acru, salate de icre sau de pete, grtare, chiftelue i chiar burgeri din pete. Toi participanii la festival, de la turist la preedinte, gust cel puin o dat din savoarea bucatelor lipoveneti. Iar preedinte este cel mai cunoscut actor romn Marcel Iure. A jucat n piese de teatru i filme de televiziune, filme romneti i strine pentru marele ecran. Le-a dat replica unor actori precum George Clooney i Nicole Kidman (Pacificatorul), Bruce Willis i Colin Farrel (Rzboiul lui Tom Hart), iar acum prezideaz cel mai frumos festival de film al Romniei.

No matter the accommodation you choose, we assure you that the fish will permanently be in your daily menu. The Danube Delta is the second big wet area in Europe, after the Volga Delta. The Danube`s waters formed here big and small channels, lakes, flood patches and mud areas full of fish. From the agile pikes to the huge catfish, the fish represent the main food source for the locals. Not to mention the fact that the Delta inhabitants are very skillful in preparing the fish, out of which they can prepare various dishes: from the nuts and garlic sauce scordolea, to the sour borscht, fish egg or fish salads, barbecue, meatballs, or even fish burgers. All the festival participants, from the tourist to the president, taste at least once out of the flavored Lipovan dishes. And the president is the most famous Romanian actor - Marcel Iure. He played in theatre plays and in films, Romanian and foreign films for the big screen. He had replicas for actors such as George Clooney and Nicole Kidman (The Peacemaker), Bruce Willis and Colin Farrel (Hart`s War), and now he presides the most beautiful film festival in Romania.



Festivalul Anonimul are ntr-adevr un public entuziast, pentru c nu este chiar la ndemna oricui s ajung n Delta Dunrii. Drumul pn aici are loc n etape, i pe uscat i pe ap. Indiferent de ruta aleas, drumul de asfalt se ncheie fie la Murighiol, fie la Tulcea. Din ambele locaii exist ambarcaiuni care duc turitii ctre Sfntu Gheorghe. n acest an, Festivalul de Film ANONIMUL se va desfura n dou locaii nvecinate, din Sfntu Gheorghe. n timpul zilei, filmele sunt proiectate n slile Complexului Cinema din Green Village. Vei avea acces n sli pe baza invitaiilor distribuite la Info Point-ul ANONIMUL (amplasat n Dolphin Camping), n limita locurilor disponibile. ncepnd cu ora 22:00, filmele sunt proiectate n Dolphin Cam-ping, pe un ecran gigant, n aer liber. Ediia 2013: 9-18 augustThe Anonymous Festival has indeed an enthusiast public, since not everybody can easily arrive in the Danube Delta. The route till here is in stages, both on land and water. Irrespective of the chosen route, the asphalted road ends either at Murighiol, or at Tulcea. From both locations there are boats which take the tourists to Sfntu Gheorghe. This year, The ANONYMOUS Film Festival will take place in two close locations from Sfntu Gheorghe. During the day the films are projected in the rooms of the Cinema Complex in Green Village. You will have access in the rooms with the invitations distributed at the ANONYMOUS Info-Point (located in Dolphin Camping), respecting the available places. Starting with 10 pm, the films are projected in Dolphin Camping on a huge screen in the open. The entrance is free. As every year, the organizers allow a selection of interesting and varied films. We rely on our experience in the last 10 years, as well as on the experience of our great film experts Irina Nistor and Ludmila Cvikova, says Miruna Berescu. The film lovers will find supplementary information referring to the presented materials and the films in competition, as well as the program details on the website www.festival-anonimul.ro. The future seems bright for the festival on the Black Sea`s wild shore. 50 years from now on, I`m kidding, but who knows? We enjoy each edition, we are happy to have this anniversary edition before even starting it. Of course, we want to keep our public close to us, to keep the public that we have now and to attract new people at the festival. We want to offer them films and programs they didn`t expect to see, films they cannot see at the cinema. Pe de alt parte, scriitorul american Mark Twain spunea c i-a lsat doar reumatismul la termele din Baden-Baden. Sunt n total 23 izvoare termale n Baden-Baden. Proprietile terapeutice se datoreaz coninutului de minerale, benefice pen-tru boli cardiovasculare, reumatice, metabolice sau respiratorii. Baden-Baden, care n traducere nseamn mbiere sau bi, ps-treaz nc farmecul din perioada belle poque, cnd i ctigase reputaia de capital de var a Europei, vizitat de mii de turiti. Renumele staiunii a fost dublat i de numeroasele recunoateri i premii internaionale obinute de apa izvoarelor sale, precum i de tratamentele medicale exclusiviste practicate n clinicile, hotelurile si centrele SPA ale oraului.Apele minerale sunt folosite n diferite terapii curative, iar la termele Caracalla i Friedrichsbad vei gsi relaxare i revigorare. Throughout centuries the location was visited by tens of personalities, who were looking for calm, or on the contrary, for adrenaline. It was here that in 1863 Feodor Dostoievsky lost his money at the town`s casino, experience which made him write its famous novel The Gambler. On the other hand, the American writer Mark Twain used to say that he lost here only his rheuma-tism at the Baden-Baden spas. There is a total of 23 thermal springs in Baden-Baden. Its thera-peutic properties are due to the minerals content, beneficial for the cardiovascular, rheumatic, metabolic, and respiratory disorders. Baden-Baden, which means bathing or baths, still preserves the charm of the period belle poque, when it got the reputation of the summer capital of Europe, visited by thousands of tourists. It is enough to walk slowly on the streets of the town in order to discover its beauty and tranquility. Baden-Baden is famous for its gorgeous gardens and parks designed after the concept of botanic geometry, which host rare species of flowers and trees. There are eight of them, but Paradies are the most beautiful. Designed in Renaissance style, they stretch on three streets and host residential area with fancy houses. They were cre-ated in the early 1920s, and the main attraction is a 40 meters waterfall. From here you will have a magnificent view over the downtown. Also stop at the Lichtentaler Allee garden, where during evenings there are performances held by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Marlene Dietrich used to say about it that it is the most beautiful in the world, which is almost true. The 250 years old building still has the luxury of saloons and the style of the big French castles from Versailles and Tuileries. The walls are covered with silk brought from Lyon, the furniture is carved in Rococo style, and the ceiling of the rooms is deco-rated with frescos. Many of those belonging to the aristocracy and nobility gambled their fortunes here, and in remembrance of its golden age, the casino keeps today only its classic games, such as the roulette and the card games. If you want to enter here, the attire is mandatory. During the off hours there are guided tours, especially for those who want only to admire the luxury of this building. Since Baden-Baden is the town of thermal waters, don`t say good-bye without visiting the ruins of the old Roman baths.

Rmische Badruinen is the testimony of the powerful Roman Empire and the proof that the ancient Romans were those who laid the foundation stone of this resort 2000 years ago. The ruins of the ancient spas hidden under the Rmerplatz will offer you an incursion in history. The walls were brought to light at the middle of the XIXth century. They are among the best preserved in the entire Germany and they represent a chef d`oeuvre of the Roman construction techniques. Near Kurkhaus Casino you will also discover Trinkhalle, the place where the mineral waters of Baden-Baden are being pumped and where you can taste a drop of the Friedrichsbad spring. Trinkhalle is an imposing building, with impressive col-umns and frescoes. Printre rile europene din zonele cu clim temperat, Romnia se mndrete cu echilibrul perfect al formelor de relief dar i cu o reea hidrografic care include toate tipurile de uniti acvatice: fluvii i ruri, lacuri, ape subterane, ape marine. Mai mult, Romnia deine nu mai puin de o treime din apele minerale ale continentului european. Clima, relieful i resursele minerale joac un rol extrem de important n componena chimic a unor izvoare despre care s-a spus c au puterea de ... ap vie.

Among the European countries with temperate climate, Romania prides itself with the perfect balance of landforms, as well as with a hydrographic network which includes all the types of aquatic unities: rivers and streams, lakes, underground waters, marine waters. Moreover, Romania has not less than a third of the mineral waters of the European continent. The climate, the relief, and the mineral resources play a very important role in the chemical composition of some springs believed to have living water properties.

Este, poate, exagerat s credem astzi n existena unor asemenea miracole, dar un proverb romnesc spune c nu iese fum fr foc. Iar ape cu proprieti curative exist n multe regiuni din Romnia. Efectul tmduitor al izvoarelor a fost descoperit nc din vremurile romanilor antici, care au creat primele bi de pe teritoriul actual al Romniei. Fie c erau bi balneoclimaterice, fie c erau bi ter-male, apa pe care primii cuceritori ai zonei au folosit-o n scopuri curative avea proprieti care puteau fi socotite miraculoase n anii 100-200. De-a lungul istoriei, apele romneti au oferit alinare de-opotriv celor bogai sau sraci, conductorilor sau supuilor. Dar n anii 1960-1980, staiunile balneo din Romnia au cunoscut cea mai mare dezvoltare. Izvoarele au fost captate, au fost construite hoteluri pentru turitii care mergeau la bi, iar legendele i-au gsit explicaia tiinific. Trecerea de la comunism la capitalism a avut efecte nedorite la nivelul acestor aezri. Industria hotelier concentrat sub conducerea statului a devenit o ruin n unele locuri, iar apele curative au avut tot mai puini clieni. Treptat, iniiativa privat a readus la via aceste staiuni.

In the Romanian legends, in each supreme confrontation between Good and Evil, the hero is helped by a character who brings him living water, water which gives him power to continue the fight and to win. It is maybe exaggerated to believe that nowadays such miracles do exist, but a Romanian proverb says that there is no smoke without fire. And the waters with curative properties exist in many Romanian regions. The healing properties of these springs were discovered even since the ancient Romans, who created the first baths on the present Romanian territory. Whether they were balneal climacteric baths, or spa baths, the water used by the first conquerors of the area had curative properties considered miraculous in the years 100-200. Throughout history, the Romanian waters offered healing both for poor and rich, masters or servants. In the years 1960-1980 the Romanian spa resorts had their golden age. The springs were arranged, the hotels for the tourists who went to the baths were built, and the legends found their scientific explanation. The passage from communism to capitalism had negative effects at the level of these settlements. The hotel industry managed by the state became a ruin in some places, and the curative waters had less and less clients. Step by step, the private initiative brought these resorts again to life.

Dei localnicii cunoteau efectele vindectoare ale apelor termale, turismul balnear nu s-a dezvoltat dect foarte trziu, n anii 1850, cnd au fost construite primele clinici i bazine.Faima staiunii sporete dup 1889, cnd apele sale sunt premiate n cadrul unei conferine internaionale.Staiunea Felix este cunoscut pentru tratamentele cu nmol i cu ape termale, eficiente mai ales n vindecarea durerilor de articula-ii. Pentru ca aceste tratamente s aib o eficacitate maxim sunt necesare dou cure anuale: nainte de instalarea frigului i nainte de venirea verii. Beneficiile apelor termale din regiune s-ar putea extinde curnd i asupra oraelor din apropiere. Islanda, una dintre rile cu tradiie n prospectarea si valorificarea potenialului geotermic, i-a anun-at nc de anul trecut intenia de a sprijini dezvoltarea n zona de Vest a Romniei a unor sisteme de termoficare care utilizeaz energia termal. Este una dintre cele mai frumoase imagini pe care oaspeii staiunii o vor purta cu ei la plecare: gingia florilor protejate de apele termale.

In the extreme west of Romania, near Oradea, there is Bile Felix, a resort mentioned in many of the Romanian stories. The most popular of the legends attributes its discovery to a monk, in the year 1000. The first mention of the baths comes in the year 1221, when they appear in a Papal Diploma. Although the locals knew about the healing effects of the thermal waters, the balneal tourism developed only much later, in 1850, when the first pools and clinics were built. The fame of the resort increases in 1889, when its waters are awarded within an international conference. The Felix resort is known for its treatments with mud and thermal waters, efficient especially for curing the articulation pains. For these treatments to have a maximum of efficiency, one should have two annual cures before the cold period and before the summer one. At Felix, the tourists` attention is attracted by the flowers which became the symbol of the resort: the thermal lotuses. In the warm water of the lakes, the lotuses develop unhindered together with the white lilies. It is one of the most beautiful images that the tourists of the resort will take with them at departure: the tenderness of the flowers protected by the thermal waters. The benefits of thermal waters in this region could soon expand towards the nearby towns. Island, one of the countries with tradition in prospecting and exploiting the geothermic potential, announced since last year its intention to support the development in the Western part of Romania of some heating systems which use the thermal energy. For the moment, an ecological project was already started in the town of Beiu, in the district Bihor, where, starting with 2012 there were expansion, modernizing and secure workings at the heating system with geothermal water.
