1. Produs intern brut (PIB)Produsul intern brut estimat pentru trimestrul I2008 a fost de 86745,0 milioane lei preuricurente, n cretere - n termeni reali cu 8,2procente comparativ cu trimestrul I 2007.

Din punct de vedere al formrii produsuluiintern brut, se remarc aportul pozitiv, lacreterea pe ansamblu al PIB, al activitilor dinservicii i construcii, cele dou ramuri deinndmpreun o pondere de 58,5% n PIB. Valoareaadugat brut din sectorul serviciilor a nregistrat o cretere de 7,5%, iar volumul deactivitate din sectorul construciilor s-a situat cu

32,4% peste nivelul trimestrul I din anul 2007.Valoarea adugat brut din industrie a marcat ocretere de 5,4%, iar agricultura, silvicultura ipiscicultura i-a sczut volumul de activitate cu0,5%.n trimestrul I 2008, volumul impozitelor nete peprodus a crescut cu 9,3% fa de trimestrulcorespunztor din anul precedent.Analiza factorilor care au contribuit la cretereade 8,2% a produsului intern brut evidenieazcontribuia dominant a serviciilor (+4,0%) i aconstruciilor (+1,7%). Industria a contribuit cunumai 1,5%, dei are o pondere de 26,7% nPIB.

1. Gross Domestic Product (GDP)The Gross Domestic Product estimated forthe first quarter of 2008 amounted to lei86745.0 million current prices, increasing inreal terms by 8.2 percentages asaga ins t the first quarter of 2007.

From the viewpoint of GDP formation, weshould notice the positive contribution to total

GDP growth of services and construction

activities, these two branches holding together a

share of 58.5% in GDP. The gross value added

in the services sector registered a growth of

7.5% and the activity volume in the construction

sector exceeded by 32.4% the level of first quarter

of 2007.The gross value added in industryregistered a growth of 5.4%, and agriculture,

forestry and fishery decreased their activity

volume by 0.5%.

In the first quarter of 2008, the volume of net

taxes on product increased by 9.3% as against

the corresponding quarter of previous year.

The analysis of the factors that contributed to the

8.2% growth of GDP points out the prevalent

contribution of services (+4.0%) and construction

(+1.7%). Industry contributed with only 1.5%

although has a weight in GDP of 26.7%.

Indicele de pre al PIB secalculeaz prin raportarea valorii n preuricurente a acestui agregat la valoarea exprimatn preuri constante i nglobeaz efectele tuturormodificrilor de pre intervenite n economie.Evoluia produsului intern brut din punct devedere al utilizrii evideniaz o creteresemnificativ a cererii interne (+15,9%) i, nmod special, a consumului final individual efectival gospodriilor populaiei (+14,3%) i a formriibrute de capital fix (+33,2%), net superioare

creterii PIB.Consumul final individual efectiv algospodriilor populaiei, n trimestrul I 2008, a fostinfluenat, n sens pozitiv, de creterea volumuluide mrfuri vndute prin comerul cu amnuntul(+21,1%) i a volumului serviciilor de piaprestate populaiei (+9,7%).

The evolution of gross domestic product

from the viewpoint of its use points out animportant growth of domestic demand (+15.9%)

and especially of households actual individual

final consumption (+14.3%) and gross fixed

capital formation (+33.2%), significantly higher

than GDP growth.In the first quarter of 2008, the householdsactual individual final consumption was positively influenced by the increase of goods

volume sold by retail (+21.1%) and of the volume

of market services rendered to the population

(+9.7%).

The evolution of the gross fixed capitalformation(+33.2%) in the first quarter of 2008was determined by the increase of investments

volume, the main component of this aggregate.

In the group of food goods, higher increases ofprices were registered for edible oil (+9.7%) andfruit and tinned fruit (+3.7%).

Decreases of prices in the group of food goods wereregistered for eggs (-4.7%) and potatoes (-1.3%).For non-food goods, higher increases of priceswere registered for fuels (+2.0%) and tobacco,cigarettes (+0.8%) and decreases wereregistered by prices for cars and spare parts(-0.9%) and medicines (-0.1%).

n luna aprilie 2008, volumul cifrei de afaceri antreprinderilor cu activitate principal de comercu amnuntul (cu excepia comerului cuautovehicule i motociclete) a crescut cu15,0% comparativ cu luna precedent. S-au nregistrat creteri mari la vnzarea produselornealimentare (+29,1%), n special a celorcomercializate prin magazine specializate

(+33,9%).Volumul cifrei de afaceri a ntreprinderilor cuactivitate principal de comer cu ridicata i cuamnuntul al autovehiculelor imotocicletelor, inclusiv ntre inerea irepararea acestora, precum i de comer cuamnuntul al carburanilor pentruautovehicule a fost mai mare, n luna aprilie2008, cu 13,0% fa de nivelul lunii precedente.Vnzarea cu amnuntul a carburanilor a nregistrat o cretere cu 2,1%, iar comerul cuautovehicule s-a majorat cu 27,7%.Activitatea de servicii de pia prestatepopulaiei n luna aprilie 2008 a nregistrat ocretere de 0,3% comparativ cu luna precedent.La comerul cu ridicata, n luna aprilie 2008,

On May 28, 2008, as compared to the same dateof last year, it is noticed a decrease of sownareas for all of crops, except fodder plants, towhich it is registered a growth of 2.8%. Climaticunfavorable conditions (precipitations, low

temperatures) since 2008 influenced sown areastill this date.

9. Unemployment

According to the data provided by the National

Agency for Employment, the number o

registered unemployedat the end of April 2008was 352.5 thousand persons. In comparison with

April 2007, the number of unemployed registered

at the agencies for employment was by 47.8

thousand persons lower. Of total registered

unemployed, women represented 44.9%.The unemployment rate registered in April2008 was 3.9% as against total civil active

population (4.5% in April 2007). Female

unemployment rate was by 0.3 percentage

points lower than male unemployment rate

(3.8% as against 4.1%).High unemployment rates were registered in the

counties: Vaslui (8.8%), Mehedini (8.5%),

Covasna (7.5%) and Teleorman (7.2%). The

lowest unemployment rates were registered in

Numrul mediu al pensionarilor n trimestrul I2008 a fost de 5713 mii persoane, n scdere cu12 mii persoane fa de trimestrul IV 2007.Pensionarii de asigurri sociale au reprezentat99,7% din numrul total de pensionari; n cadrulacestei categorii, comparativ cu trimestrul IV2007, numrul pensionarilor de asigurri socialede stat s-a majorat cu 2 mii persoane, iar cel alpensionarilor agricultori (893 mii persoane) a

sczut cu 15 mii persoane.

Pensia medie lunar a pensionarilor deasigurri sociale de stat n trimestrul I 2008 afost de 563 lei lunar, n cretere cu 16,6% fade trimestrul IV 2007; pensia medie lunar apensionarilor de asigurri sociale agricultori afost de 240 lei i a crescut cu 16,5%. Raportuldintre pensia medie de asigurri sociale de statpentru limit de vrst, cu stagiu complet decotizare (fr impozit) i ctigul salarial mediunet n trimestrul I 2008 a fost de 65,1%.

In the first quarter of 2008, the average numberof pensioners amounted to 5713 thousandpersons, decreasing by 12 thousands as againstthe fourth quarter of 2007. Social insurance pensioners represented 99.7% of totalpensioners; in this category, in comparison withthe fourth quarter of 2007, the number of statesocial insurance pensioners was by 2 thousand persons higher and that of farmer pensioners

(893 thousand persons) decreased by 15thousands.In the first quarter of 2008, the monthly averagepension of state social insurance pensionerswas lei 563, increasing by 16.6% as against thefourth quarter 2007; the monthly average pension of farmer pensioners was lei 240 andincreased by 16.5%.
