Career Days is...Career days, the biggest job and career consult-

ing fair for students in Argeş County. As the name suggests, the project aims to connect the academic environment to the business on one hand, and to support students in building a successful career in a top company, on the other hand.

This was the first edition of the project in its cur-rent structure; a similar, smaller project was orga-nized back in 2004, but with a reduced number of participants.

This initiative was designed as a large-scale project, and it has been promoted extensively in the university campus and student dormitories; moreover, promotion extended to heavy traffic and maximum visibility areas in the city. We have used posters, flyers, magazines, press releases, radio announcements and banners during the promotion campaign.

Zilele Carierei este …Zilele Carierei - cel mai mare târg de joburi şi

consultanţă în carieră pentru studenţi din Argeş. Aşa cum sugerează şi numele, proiectul are ca principal scop crearea unei legături între mediul economic şi cel academic, pe de o parte, şi promovarea tinerilor care pot avea o carieră de succes într-o companie de top, pe de altă parte. Proiectul, organizat după această structură, s-a aflat la prima ediţie, mai exis-tând un precedent în anul 2004, însă în limite mai reduse ca amploare şi număr de participanţi.

Această inţiativă s-a dorit a fi un proiect de masă, fapt pentru care a fost promovat intens în mediul universitar, campus şi cămine studenţeşti, şi mai mult decât atât, promovarea s-a extins şi în locurile de trafic intens din oraş, precum şi în locurile de vi-zibilitate maximă. Materialele de promovare folosite au constat în afişe, fluturaşi, reviste, precum şi în comunicate de presă, spot radio sau banner.

The event took place ...The event took place in “Casa Cărţii” from 2 to 4 of

April 2008. 13 companies from Argeş, Olt, Dâmboviţa attended the event, presented their job opportunities to students, and organized trainings, workshops, and company presentations. Companies such as Dacia Groupe Renault, Johnson Controls, Arctic, Vel Pitar, Giramex, Alvvimar Comimpex, BRD Groupe Societe Generale, Coremi, Obiettivo Lavoro, Institutul de Cercetari Nucleare, Trenkwalder Sobis, and Contrast HR attended the event. Moreover, AIESEC organized a pre-sentation stand for its main

program, namely the eXchange program, which targets final year students for international working experi-ences and companies that could benefit from selecting foreign students for paid, limited duration internships.

Evenimentul s-a desfăşurat …Evenimentul s-a desfăşurat între 2-4 aprilie 2008,

în cadrul complexului Casa Cărţii. Au fost prezente 13 companii din Argeş, Olt şi Dâmboviţa care şi-au prezentat oferta de locuri de muncă disponibile studenţilor, o parte din acestea având şi sesiuni de workshop şi training adresate studenţilor, precum şi

prezentări de com-panii. Companiile prezente au fost: Dacia Group Renault, Johnson Controls, Arctic, Vel Pitar, Gira-mex, Alvvimar Comimpex, BRD Group Societe G e n e r a l e ,

Coremi, Obiettivo Lavo-ro, Institutul de Cercetări Nucleare, Trenkwalder Sobis, Contrast HR, de asemenea fiind amenajat şi un stand al principalului program desfăşurat de AIESEC, şi anume eXchange, pentru studenţii în an terminal care puteau opta pentru o experienţă de lucru internaţi-onală, dar şi pentru companii cărora le surâde ideea de a avea un tânăr dintr-o altă ţară într-un stagiu de practică plătită pe o perioadă determinată.

The job fair took place...The job fair took place from 10 a.m. to 15 p.m.

daily. The initial target of the project was 900 unique visitors/ 3 days; the fair had 756 unique visitors and a part of the participants’ CVs was stored in a data-base created after the event.

The first edition was very promising and, in the following years, AIESEC Pitesti plans to organize this event on a larger scale, even if the concept of a job and career advice fair is still very new in Arges’ labor market.

To ensure that the project will be a successful one in the following years, we are open to feedback, opinions and suggestions.

Programul târgului de joburi...Programul târgului de joburi a fost între orele

10-15, în fiecare dintre cele trei zile de eveniment. Targetul pentru cele 3 zile era de 900 de vizitatori unici, târgul având 756 de vizitatori unici, în urma celor trei zile fiind alcatuită o bază de date cu o parte din CV-urile vizitatorilor.

AIESEC Piteşti şi-a propus ca în anii viitori acest eveniment să capete o amploare mult mai mare, dat fiind faptul că prima ediţie a fost promiţătoare, deşi conceptul de târg de joburi şi consultanţă în carieră este încă o noutatea pe piaţa argeşeană. Pentru a ne asigura că proiectul va fi unul de succes în anii următori suntem deschişi la feed-back din partea dumneavoastră, precum şi păreri sau sugestii.

Employee - Employer...A discussion about the “Employee – Employer

Relationship” took place as part of the “Career Days” project. Company representatives mentioned above were joined by Petrom Transition Centre (the idea of this discussion was generated by Mr. Eduard

Mihail, Petrom Transi-tion Centre Manager), representatives of BPI International, ABN Amro, Piteşti Univer-sity (among them Mr. Gheorghe Crivac, Piteşti University Dep-uty), Tudor Pendiuc, the mayor of Pitesti,

and around 80 AIESEC members and students.

The main conclusion of the discussion was that stronger and more durable connections between the academic and the business environment would improve performance of both sides.

These sorts of talks, trainings and meetings between the academic and the business environ-ment, between students and companies are highly welcome and will certainly repeat in the future.

Angajat - Angajator...De asemenea în cadrul proiectului a avut loc şi o

dezbatere cu tema “Relaţia Angajat - Angajator”. La aceasta dezbatere au participat, pe lângă reprezen-tanţii companiilor prezentate mai sus, şi Centrul de Tranziţie Petrom (ideea dezbaterii fiind chiar a ma-nagerului Centrului de Tranziţie Petrom domnul Eduard Mihail), reprezen-tanţi de la BPI International, ABN Amro, Universitatea Piteşti (printre care şi domnul Prorector Gheorghe Crivac), domnul primar Tudor Pendiuc si de asemenea şi un numar de aproximativ 80 de membri AIESEC şi studenţi.

În urma dezbaterii s-a ajuns la concluzia că mediul academic şi cel economic ar trebui să fie în contact din ce in ce mai mult pentru ca în timp să se imbunătăţească performanţele celor doua medii. Deci, astfel de dezbateri, traininguri sau întâlniri între mediul economic şi cel academic, sau între studenţi şi companii sunt binevenite şi pe viitor şi cu siguranţă se vor mai repeta.

In the next period...In the following period, AIESEC Piteşti aims to

strengthen the relationship between the academic and the business environment by implementing projects that hit the areas of personal development through non-formal education. Because Arges is an industrialized region, AIESEC intends to conduct ac-tivities designed to promote the importance of social responsibility (CR, CSR) towards the environment, the only indispensable and renewable resource.

In the end we want to give special thanks to the City Hall and the Cultural Centre and also to our main media partener Kiss FM for the suport given in finalising this project we sincerely wish that Ca-reer Days is the beginning of a long and beautiful partnership in the near future between the City Hall, the Cultural Centre, Kiss FM and AIESEC Pitesti, in order to put in practice project for teenagers at least as big as Career Days was.

principal obiectiv dezvoltarea relaţiei dintre mediul academic şi cel economic prin implementarea pro-iectelor concepute ce işi propun să atingă domenii ca: dezvoltarea personală prin educaţie non-formală şi, datorită faptului că zona Argeşului este o zonă industrială, dorim să punem în aplicare activităţi menite să promoveze importanţa responsabilitaţii sociale (CR, CSR), cu privire la mediul înconjurător, ca singura resursă inepuizabilă şi indispensabilă.

În final vrem sa mulţumim Primăriei Piteşti şi Centrului Cultural Piteşti şi de asemenea partene-rului nostru principal media Kiss FM pentru sprijinul acordat, sprijin fără de care acest proiect nu ar fi putut fi pus în practică, ne dorim ca aceasta prima colaborare frumoasă să reprezinte bazele unei colaborări îndelungate între Primăria Piteşti, Centrul Cultural Piteşti, Kiss Fm şi AIESEC Piteşti în care să realizăm împreună proiecte pentru tineri cel puţin la fel de mari ca Zilele Carierei.
