1. Indicele produciei industriale Indicele brut al produciei industriale n luna decembrie 2008comparativ cu luna precedent, anregistrat o scdere pe ansamblu cu 19,2%, determinat de scderea produciei n toate cele trei sectoare industriale: industria extractiv (-9,7%), industriaprelucrtoare (-21,6%) i industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (-0,8%).Ramurile industriei prelucrtoare ale cror indici brui ai produciei au sczut semnificativ au fost: mijloace de transport rutier (-56,2%), substane i produse chimice (-45,3%), produse din tutun (-42,2%), produse din cauciuc i mase plastice (-41,7%), maini i aparate electrice (-38,8%) i fabricarea materialelor de construcii i altor produse din minerale nemetalice (-36,5%). n aceast lun nu s-au nregistrat creteri ale indicelui brut al produciei industriale pentru niciuna dintre ramurile industriei prelucrtoare. Pe marile grupe industriale se observ c indicele brut al produciei industriale a sczut astfel: industria bunurilor intermediare (-34,3%), industria bunurilor de capital (-28,7%), industria bunurilor de folosin ndelungat (-27,6%), industria bunurilor de uz curent (-7,7%) i industria energetic (-4,7%). n luna decembrie 2008 comparativ cu decembrie 2007, indicele brut al produciei industriale a nregistrat o scdere cu 18,0% determinat de scderea produciei n toate cele trei sectoare industriale: industria extractiv (-5,9%), industria prelucrtoare (-20,1%) iindustria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (-7,3%). Ramurile industriale care au contribuit substanial la scderea indicelui brut al industriei prelucrtoare au fost: substane i produse chimice (-61,2%), mijloace de transport rutier (-59,0%), metalurgie (-51,9%), produse din cauciuc i mase plastice (-43,4%) i maini i aparate electrice (-43,0%). De asemenea, s-au nregistrat i creteri semnificative ale produciei n ramurile industriale: edituri, poligrafie i reproducerea pe supori a

1. Industrial production index

Gross industrial production index of November 2008 as against the previous month registered a decrease per total by 19.2% due to the production decrease in all the three industrial sectors: mining and quarrying(-9.7%), manufacturing (-21.6%) and electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry(-0.8%). The manufacturing industrial brancheswhose gross industrial production indeces meningful decreased were: means of road transport (-56.2%), chemical substances and products (-45.3%), tobacco products (-42.2%), rubber and plastics products (-41.7%), electric machinery and appliances (-38.8%) and construction materials manufacturing and other products of non metallic minerals (-36.5%). This month gross industrial production index increases have not been registered for none of the manufacturing industrial branches. By main industrial groups we could see that the gross industrial production indexdecreased like this: intermediate goods industry (-34,3%), capital goods industry(-28.7%), durable goods industry (-27.6%), current use goods industry (-7.7%) and energy industry (-4.7%). In December 2008 as compared to December 2007 gross industrial production index registered a decrease of 18.0% supported by the production decrease in all the three industrial sectors: mining and quarrying (-5.9%), manufacturing (-20.1%)and electric and thermal energy, gas and water sector (-7.3%). The industrial branches which contributed substantially to the decrease of the manufacturing gross index were: chemical substances and products (-61,2%), means of road transport (-59.0%), metallurgy (-51.9%), rubber and plastics products (-43.4%) and electric machinery and appliances (-43.0%). Meaningful production increases were also registered in theindustrial branches: publishing houses, polygraphy, recording reproductible

nregistrrilor (+40,6%), aparatur i instrumente medicale, de precizie, optice i ceasornicrie (+39,5%) i pielrie i nclminte (+12,4%). Pe marile grupe industriale cretere aproduciei s-a nregistrat n industria bunurilor de uz curent (+7,1%), iar scderi ale produciei s-au nregistrat n industria bunurilor intermediare (-38,0%), industria bunurilor de capital (-31,4%), industria bunurilor de folosin ndelungat (-25,8%) i industria energetic (-10,2%). n anul 2008 comparativ cu anul precedent, indicele brut al produciei industriale a fost mai mare cu 0,9%, cretere susinut de dou din cele trei sectoare industriale: industria prelucrtoare (+0,7%) i industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (+6,2%). In industria extractiv indicele brut al produciei industriale a sczut cu 0,3%. n industria prelucrtoare cele mai mari creteri ale produciei s-au nregistrat n ramurile: edituri, poligrafie i reproducerea pe supori a nregistrrilor (+32,2%), produse din tutun (+26,4%) i echipamente pentru radio, televiziune i comunicaii (+7,4%). Impactul creterilor menionate asupra creterii produciei pe ansamblul industriei prelucrtoare a fost estompat de scderile nregistrate n alte ramuri industriale, precum: produse textile (-22,5%), maini i aparate electrice (-16,3%), metalurgie (-15,2%) i celuloz, hrtie i produse din hrtie (-10,6%). Pe marile grupe industriale cele mai mari creteri s-au nregistrat n industria bunurilor de uz curent (+7,6%) urmat de industria bunurilor de capital (+1,3%) i industria energetic (+0,3%). n industria bunurilor de folosin ndelungat i n industria bunurilor intermediare producia a sczut cu 6,5% respectiv cu 3,7%. Indicele produciei industriale ajustat n funcie de numrul de zile lucrtoare a sczut n luna decembrie2008 fa de luna precedent cu18,8%, scdere determinat de diminuarea produciei n industria prelucrtoare (-21,1%) i n industria extractiv (-10,6%). n industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i approducia a crescut cu 0,4%. n cadrul industriei prelucrtoare, ramurile industriale a cror producie a sczutsemnificativ au fost: mijloace de transport

registrations (+40.6%), medical, precision, optical watchmaking instruments and apparatus (+39.5%) and leather goods and footwear (+12.4%) . By main industrial groups production growth was registered in current use goods industry (+7.1%) and production decreses wereregistered in intermediate goods industry(-38.0%), capital goods industry (-31.4%), durable goods industry (-25.8%) and energy industry (-10.2%). During 2008 in comparison with last yeargross industrial production index was by 0.9% higher that increase being supported by two from the three industrial sectors: manufacturing (+0.7%) and electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry(+6.2%). In mining and quarrying gross industrial production index decreased by 0.3%. In manufacturing the highest production increases were registered in the industrial branches: publishing houses, polygraphy, recording reproductible registrations (+32.2%), tobacco products (+26.4%) and radio, TV and communication equipment (+7.4%). The impact of significant growths mentioned above over the growth per total manufacturing was diminished by the decreases registered in other manufacturing branches: textile products (-22.5%), electric machinery and apparatus (-16.3%), metallurgy (-15.2%) and pulp, paper and paper products (-10.6%). By main industrial groups the highest growths were registered in current use goods industry (+7.6%) followed by capital goods industry (+1.3%) and energy industry (+0.3%). In durable goods industry and in intermediate goods industry production decreased by 6.5% respectively by 3.7%. Adjusted index of industrial production according to the number of working days decreased in December2008 as against the previous month by18.8% due to the production decrease in manufacturing (-21.2%) and in mining and quarrying (-10.6%). In electric and thermal energy, gas and water industryproduction increased by 0.4%. In manufacturing the industrial branches whose production meaningfuly decreased were: means of road transport

Pe marile grupe industriale evoluia indicelui ajustat al produciei industriale se prezint astfel: industria energetic (-1,7%), industria bunurilor de uz curent (-6,7%), industria bunurilor de folosin ndelungat (-26,1%), industria bunurilor de capital (-28,3%) i industria bunurilor intermediare (-34,5%). Comparativ cu luna corespunztoare din anul precedent, indicele ajustat al produciei industriale a sczut n decembrie 2008 cu 17,5%, din cauzascderii produciei n toate cele trei sectoare industriale: industria extractiv (-8,9%), industria prelucrtoare (-19,4%) i industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (-4,8%). n cadrul industriei prelucrtoare, ramurile industriale a cror producie a sczut semnificativ au fost:substane i produse chimice (-62,8%), mijloace de transport rutier (-60,2%), metalurgie (-53,4%), produse din cauciuc i mase plastice (-44,4%) i maini i aparate electrice (-41,2%). Creteri semnificative ale produciei industriale pot fi menionate n ramurile industriale: edituri, poligrafie i reproducerea pe supori a nregistrrilor (+31,9%) i produse din tutun (+11,0%). Pe marile grupe industriale cretere a produciei s-a nregistrat n industria bunurilor de uz curent (+8,0%). n cazul celorlalte mari grupe industriale producia a sczut astfel: industria bunurilor intermediare (-38,6%), industria bunurilor de capital (-27,9%), industria bunurilor de folosin ndelungat (-25,9%) i industria energetic (-5,1%). n anul 2008, comparativ cu anul precedent, indicele ajustat al produciei industriale a crescut cu 1,0%, datorit creterii produciei n dou din cele trei sectoare industriale: industria prelucrtoare (+0,7%) i industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (+6,6%).n industria extractiv producia a sczut cu 0,4%. n cadrul industriei prelucrtoare,

Compared with corresponding month of previous year in December 2008adjusted index of industrial production decreased by 17.5% that decrease being determined by the production decrease in all the three industrial sectors: mining and quarrying (-8.9%), manufacturing (-19.4%)and electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry (-4.8%). In manufacturing the industrial branches whose production meaningfuly decreased were: chemical substances and products (-62.8%), means of road transport (-60.2%), metallurgy (-53.4%), rubber and plastics products (-44.4%) and electric machinery and apparatus (-41.2%). Meaningful increases of the industrial production can be mentioned in the industrial branches: publishing houses, polygraphy, recording reproductible registrations (+31.9%) and tobacco products (+11.0%). The production of the other main industrial groups decreased as follows: intermediate goods industry (-38.6%), capital goods industry (-27.9%), durable goods industry (-25.9%)and energy industry (-5.1%). During 2008 in comparison with previous year adjusted index of industrial production increased by 1.0% due to the productionincrease in two from the three industrial sectors: manufacturing (+0.7%) and electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry(+6.6%). In mining and quarrying production decreased by 0.4%. In manufacturing the industrial branches

Fa de anul precedent, n anul 2008 productivitatea muncii n industrie a nregistrat o cretere cu 4,8%, cretere influenat de dinamica pozitiv a productivitii muncii n dou din cele trei sectoare industriale: industria prelucrtoare (+4,9%) i industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (+10,3%). n industria extractiv, productivitatea muncii a sczut cu 0,7%. Ramurile cu cea mai mare productivitate a muncii din cadrul industriei prelucrtoare au fost: produse din tutun (+38,3%), edituri, poligrafie i reproducerea pe supori a nregistrrilor (+35,7%), pielrie i nclminte

The industrial branches with the lowest labor productivity in manufacturing were: chemical substances and products (-58.5%), means of road transport (-56.7%) and metallurgy (-49.0%) and the industrial branches with the highest labor productivity were: medical, precision, optical, watchmaking instruments and apparatus (+64.9%), publishing houses, polygraphy, recording reproductible registrations (+46.0%) and leather goods and footwear (+44.7%). During the year 2008 compared with previous year labor productivity in industry registered a growth by 4.8%, that growth being influenced by the productivity increase in two from the three industrial sectors: manufacturing (+4.9%) and electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry (+10.3%). In mining and quarrying labor productivity decreased by 0.7%. The industrial branches with the highest labor productivity in manufacturing were: tobacco products (+38.3%), publishing houses, polygraphy, recording and copying (+35.7%), leather goods and footwear (+26.1%) and medical, precision, optical,

Indicii cifrei de afaceri din industrie Comparativ cu luna precedent, n luna decembrie 2008 indicele volumului cifrei de afaceri totale (piaa intern i piaa extern) a unitilor industriale a fost mai mic cu 10,4%, din cauza scderii nregistrate n industria prelucrtoare (-14,0%) i n industria extractiv (-6,8%). n industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap indicele volumului cifrei de afaceri totale a crescut cu 10,0%. Ramurile industriei prelucrtoare care au determinat n mod deosebit scderea cifrei de afaceri totale au fost: mijloace de transport rutier (-42,8%), echipamente pentru radio, televiziune i comunicaii (-35,4%) i fabricarea materialelor de construcii i a altor produse din minerale nemetalice (-30,5%). Creteri ale cifrei de afaceri totale pot fi menionate numai pentru ramurile industriale: aparatur i instrumente medicale, de precizie, optice i ceasornicrie (+17,4%), mijloace de transport neincluse la cele rutiere (+13,7%) i alimentar i buturi (+2,7%). Pe marile grupe industriale evoluia indicelui volumului cifrei de afaceri totale se prezint astfel: industria energetic (+2,5%), industria bunurilor de uz curent (+0,5%), industria bunurilor de folosin ndelungat (-10,9%), industria bunurilor de capital (-20,2%) i industria bunurilor intermediare (-21,0%). Comparativ cu luna corespunztoare din anul precedent, n luna decembrie 2008 indicele volumului cifrei de afaceri totale (piaa intern i piaa extern) a unitilor industriale a fost mai mic cu 9,3%, scderea fiind determinat de toate cele trei sectoare industriale: industria extractiv (-7,6%), industria prelucrtoare (-10,6%) i industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap (-3,0%).

3. Industrial turnover indices Compared with the previous month in December 2008 total turnover volume index of industrial units (domestic and non-domestic market) was by 10.4% lower due to the decrease registered in manufacturing (-14.0%) and in mining and quarrying (-6.8%). In electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry total turnover volume index increased by 10.0%. Manufacturing industrial branches which especially determined total turnover decrease were: means of road transport (-42.8%), radio, TV and communicationequipment (-35.4%) and construction materials manufacturing and other products of non metallic minerals (-30.5%). Total turnover rises can be mentioned only for the follwing industrial branches: medical, precision, optical watchmaking instruments and apparatus (+17.4%), means of transport not included in road transport (+13.7%) and food and beverages (+2.7%). The evolution of total turnover volume index in industry by main industrial groups was as follows: energy industry (+2.5%), current use goods industry (+0.5%), durable goods industry (-10.9%), capital goods industry (-20.2%) and intermediate goods industry (-21.0%). Pe sectoare de activitate, preurile produselor din industria extractiv i cele din industria prelucrtoare au nregistrat o scdere cu 3,7%, respectiv cu 2,1%, iar cele la energie electric i termic, gaze i ap o cretere cu 0,7%. n industria prelucrtoare, creteri semnificative de preuri s-au nregistrat la produsele din ramurile: articole de mbrcminte (+2,3%), maini i echipamente (+1,9%), edituri, poligrafie i reproducerea pe supori a nregistrrilor (+1,7%), pielrie i nclminte (+1,5%), aparatur i instrumente medicale, de precizie, optice i ceasornicrie (+1,4%), celuloz, hrtie i produse din hrtie (+1,3%). 5. Industrial production price indices In December 2008, compared with November 2008, the industrial producer prices registered a total decrease of 1.9% (domestic and non-domestic market). By sectors of activity, mining and quarrying and manufacturing product prices registered a decrease of 3.7% respectively of 2.1% while electric and thermal energy, gas and water product prices registered an increase of 0.7%. In manufacturing, price increases were registered for products from the industrial branches: clothing products (+2.3%), machinery and equipment (+1.9%), publishing houses, polygraphy, recording and copying (+1.7%), leather goods and footwear (+1.5%), medical, precision, optical watchmaking instruments and apparatus (+1.4%), pulp, paper and paper products (+1.3%). Price decreases were registered for products from the industrial branches: petroleum processing, coal coking and treatment of nuclear fuel (-14.7%), metallurgy (-4.0%), chemical substances and products (-1.9%), rubber and plastic products (-1.3%), construction materials manufacturing and other non-metallic mineral products (-0.6%), wood and wooden products processing (excluding furniture production) (-0.4%), electric machinery and apparatus (-0.1%). For electric and thermal energy, gas and water price increases are experienced with regard to: production and distribution of electric and thermal power, gas and water (+0.7%) and collection, purification and distribution of water (+0.6%). By main industrial groups, the following increases in prices were registered:

Producia intern a nsumat 24296,9 mii tep, n cretere cu 0,2% fa de anul precedent, iar importul a fost de 16118,0 mii tep, n scdere cu 6,1%. Resursele de energie electric, n anul 2008, au fost de 65556,8 milioane kWh, n cretere cu 3732,2 milioane kWh (+6,0%) fa de anul 2007. Creterea resurselor de energie electric s-a datorat n principal creterii produciei cu 4079,7 milioane kWh (+6,7%). n termocentrale producia a sczut cu 1369,9 milioane kWh (-3,6%), n timp ce n hidrocentrale i n centrale nuclearoelectrice producia a crescut cu 1190,8 milioane kWh (+7,5%), respectiv cu 4258,8 milioane kWh (+61,1%). Consumul final de energie electric n anul 2008 a fost de 53030,8 milioane kWh, cu 4,2% mai mare fa de anul 2007; iluminatul public a nregistrat o cretere cu 10,6%, iar consumul populaiei a crescut cu 7,1%. Exportul de energie electric a crescut cu 1810,3 milioane kWh, respectiv cu 53,9% fa de anul 2007.

6. Main resources of primary energy During 2008, as against 2007, the main resources of primary energy amounted to 40414.9 thou tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), decreasing by 1007.8 thou toe. Domestic production amounted to 24296.9 thou toe, increasing by 0.2% as against the same period of 2007 and import was 16118.0 thou toe decreasing by 6.1%. Electricity resources during 2008 amounted to 65556.8 million kWh, increasing by 3732.2 million kWh (+6.0%) as compared to 2007. The increase of electricity resources was based mainly on the production increase with 4079.7 million kWh (+6.7%). The production from thermo-power stations decreased by 1369.9 million kWh (-3.6%) while hydro-power stations and nuclearo-power stations production increased by 1190.8 million kWh (+7.5%) respectively by 4258.8 million kWh (+61.1%). Cel mai mare ctig salarial mediu brut s-a nregistrat n industria extractiv de 3234 lei (RON), urmat de cel din industria energiei electrice i termice, gaze i ap de 3321 lei (RON), cel mai mic ctig salarial mediu brut obinndu-se n industria prelucrtoare de 1603 lei (RON), respectiv n ramurile: prelucrarea lemnului i a produselor din lemn (exclusiv mobila) 1097 lei (RON), articole de mbrcminte 1016 lei (RON) i pielrie i nclminte 1103 lei (RON). n anul 2008 comparativ cu anul precedent, ctigul salarial mediu net a crescut cu 20,8%.

Earnings In December 2008, gross average earning in industry was RON 1848 while the net one was RON 1373 increasing with 12.2% as against november 2008 and also increasing by 19.6% as against december 2007. The highest gross average earning was registered in mining and quarrying RON 3234 followed by electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry RON 3321, the lowest gross average earning being obtained in manufacturing RON 1603 respectively in the industrial branches: wood and wood products processing (except furniture) RON 1097, clothing articles RON 1016 and leather goods and footwear RON 1103. During 2008 compared with previous year net average earning increased by 20,8%.
