Asociația Profesorilor de Limba și Literatura Engleză din Timișoara vă invită să luați parte la o întâlnire deosebită cu carismaticul formator Mark Andrews în cadrul TETA DAY - Opening up to the here and now - în data de 24 martie 2018, la Colegiul Național de Artă "Ion Vidu" începând cu ora 9.00.

In the sessions we will focus on bringing the here and now into the classroom, on getting students to become more autonomous and to seek opportunities for learning outside the classroom and making the local much more of a focus for English language lessons. We will also look at language change as a means of developing as a teacher and as a tool for broadening our students' horizons and making them more open-minded as people and more comfortable with ambiguity, diversity and change as well as users of English. Understanding language change helps us to be more flexible too in our teaching of grammar and where we stand on our attitudes to building confidence and the fluency and accuracy debate. We will also explore the issue of how much face to face time we have and how much we are online with both students and with ourselves in our professional and personal lives and what skills we need to develop in students to complement screentime. Finally I work as training director at SOL (Sharing One Language) and I’ll show you some examples of learning about Britain and work done at SOL with both students and teachers in Devon and on courses in Serbia and Slovakia. Please come if you can and let’s enjoy some time reflecting on what we do well already and ways in which we might do things differently or better. After an introduction to these issues we will share ideas in small groups with nice coffee, tea and other nibbles to keep us going! See you there and see you soon. Mark
