The Transfer Common ApplicationSubmitting the Transfer Common Application and the $70 applicationfee (or fee waiversee instructions in this booklet) begins the admis-sions process and should be done as soon as possible.
It is important to submit your Transfer Common Application as earlyas you can for several reasons:
1. You will avoid delays in the processing of your application. Cornellreceives applications from close to 2,500 prospective transfer stu-dents each year. Spring transfer applicants will hear back from us inDecember. Fall transfer applicants should know that it can take us 46weeks to process and review each application from the time of receipt.
2. When we receive your Transfer Common Application and fee, we
will e-mail you with the information you need to establish an onlineApplication Status Account on Cornells web site. Please note thatreceiving a PIN via e-mail is your confirmation that we have receivedyour application. Using this secure site, you will be able to track yourapplication materials, update your e-mail address when necessary, andhave access to your admissions decision. If you do not receive a PINwithin two weeks of submitting the Transfer Common Application toCornell University, it may be because your e-mail address is incorrector you are blocking e-mail from us. Go to our web site (admissions.cornell.edu), click on Check Application Status, and follow theinstructions to obtain your PIN. Use the troubleshooting feedbackform if you continue to have problems.
You can submit the Transfer Common Application to Cornell using
the online version at www.commonapp.org
the PDF version on Cornells web site at admissions.cornell.edu(print and mail to us)
the paper copy included in this booklet. Neatly handwritten, printed, or typed responses to the questions on the paper applictiare acceptable. Please include your name, home address, and U.SSocial Security number or date of birth on all attached sheets.
Please note: You only need to complete and submit the TransferCommon Application with the application fee one time. Do NOTsend duplicate copies through the mail or online unless you are spcifically requested to do so by our processing staff.
We encourage you to view the personal parts of the Transfer CommoApplication, and in particular the Personal Statement, as opportunitto think about yourself and reflect on what is important to you. Givcareful thought to the questions that are asked, but dont try to writethe answers you think we want to hear. Give us answers that tell usabout you.
Your application must be postmarked by November 1 for Spring 200transfer admission, or by March 15 for Fall 2007 transfer admission.
