In freedom I have entered this Temple to initiate myself as a -eophyte and only in

freedom must I obligate myself to anyone or anything. The Sun of Light "ame not to

bind but to free humanity. In freedom I must do my Will. I have no right but to do myWill. I will do that and no other shall say nay.

I will now pla"e my hands on the /ook of the Law to signify my Will to e7er"ise the

Thelemi" +rder of the (olden Dawn do of my own free Will hereby and hereon

most solemnly promise and swear to keep sa"red and inviolate all real se"rets and

true mysteries of the Thelemi" +rder of the (olden Dawn to regard myself as owing

to mankind the preservation of those most !oly Se"rets and to neither abuse nor

debase them for my own selfish or ill intent. I submit myself by my own "onsent to

the Spiritual %urrent of this +rder of Thelema that I may learn its !oly Se"rets anda"uire its !idden ,nowledge for the attainment of the (reat Work and not for the

abuse or betrayal of the Wisdom of its !oly San"tuary.

I solemnly promise and swear not to suffer myself to be pla"ed in su"h a state of

passivity that any uninitiated person or profane power may "ause me to lose "ontrol

of my words or a"tions lest I reveal what must never be known to the profane.

I solemnly promise and swear to obtain knowledge and "ontrol of the nature and

powers of my own being to dis"over my own True Will and to allow for the freefulfillment of my magi"al development in the Thelemi" +rder of the (olden Dawn.

powers to harm another at any time tried or under any temptation. I will only use my

will honor every member of the +rder as a Star and I will assist them by whatever

ttac!ing6. It represents the involution and bringing forward of the Light into the

material to aid the Will of the -eophyte in his3her sear"h for and aspiration toward

his3her True Self. It is a Sign of tremendous Atta"king For"e and of pro;e"tion of Will

0ower. It may be used in the $agi"al A"ts of "onse"rating and "harging Talismans or

other ob;e"ts of the (reat Work.

The se"ond Sign is theSign of Silence and is given thus) =Place ou$ $(,"& +o$e/

of the -ew Aeon. This Sign has a double meaning. Firstly it is theSign of Defense. It

is a 0rote"tion against all atta"k and danger of obsession. Se"ondly it alludes to your

obligation to keep sa"red and inviolate all real se"rets and true mysteries of the

Thelemi" +rder of the (olden Dawn to keep silen"e regarding those most holy

se"rets and mysteries in the presen"e of the profane to never reveal what must not be

told. The first sign is always answered by the se"ond.

The Word of the -eophyte (rade isH##R-"-KRT. It is the 1gyptian -ame

for the (od of Silen"e also "alled !arpo"rates in the (reek tongue. !oor*0a*,raat

is the %on"ealed %hild of the -ew Aeon and represents the %urrent of For"es ruling
