lege, Paştele după har şi

Paştele veacului ce va să fie.

Paştele după lege, în

timpul căruia iudeii

sărbătoreau trecerea prin

Marea Roşie, era o

rememorare a amărăciunii

robiei din Egipt, dar şi a

eliberării lor cu ajutorul lui

Dumnezeu. Era un Paşte „al

recunoştinţei şi al rugăciu-

nii”. În realitate, acest Paşte

reprezenta preînchipuirea

propriului nostru Paşte.

Paştele sfântului

har este Învierea lui Hristos

prin care se face trecerea „de

la moarte la viaţă si de la

pământ la cer”. Sfântul

Grigorie Teologul spune: „O,

Paşte mare şi sfânt şi curăţi-

rea întregii lumi”. Fără

împărtăşirea din Hristos şi

fără comuniunea cu El există

numai moarte şi robie. Aşa

cum afirma Sfântul Grigorie

Sinaitul, „cel care nu vede, nu

aude şi nu simte duhovniceşte

este mort”. Prin urmare,

Paştele este venirea lui Hris-

tos în inimă. Sfântul Maxim

Mărturisitorul se exprima

foarte sugestiv: „Pastele este

venirea Cuvântului în gândul

oamenilor”. Atunci când Îl

primeşte pe Hristos, omul

trăieşte cu adevărat, iar Hris-

tos Se face în el viaţă şi suflet

al sufletului său, „suflet al

celei de-a doua învieri a oa-

menilor” (Cuviosul Nil).

THE RESURRECTION

The resurrection of Christ is

God’s gift to all men it is also the

supreme argument of Christianity

over other religions. The resurrec-

tion responds to the great question

of the world, including the great

problem of death. The power and

the mystery of this event amazes

and inspires today with the same

power as then. The first witness-

es of the Resurrection, the myrrh

bearers and the disciples, as well

as Saul of Tars were the first to

be marked and transformed by

this supreme miracle, which we

actualized these days. Here are

three lesson learned from the res-

urrection, relying on the apostles

witnessing:

Their belief… thought, in the begin-

ning the apostles were circumspect and

waiving, some even doubting the resur-

rection of Jesus after the empty tomb,

mentioned in all four Gospels, made

them raise questions. Then, the linen

shroud found in the tomb and the 11 ap-

pearances of Christ after the Resurrec-

tion, all corroborated brought them face

to face with Him who masters the life

and death. The same Risen Lord chal-

lenged Thomas to touch and believe.

Love. In the context of the Resurrec-

tion, the hearts of the 12 Apostles were

set ablaze by the gift of a love and joy

that were not of this world. From their

condition of uneducated fishermen, they

were turned into great orators who con-

verted thousands of people. Their life

was profoundly changed, a matter hard

to be understood if the Resurrection

would have not been real. The case of

St. Peter is convincing. Here is another

argument – Saul of Tarsus. Having

been first a persecutor of Christians and

accomplice to death of Archdeacon Ste-

phen (first martyr), he experienced such

a meltdown of the heart that he became

the Apostle of the nations. Then, the

Apostles – from their extreme simplici-

ty, they all started to speak in tongues,

proclaiming the good news to all na-

tions.

Discipleship (Christian Living) “Go

therefore and make disciples” (Matt

28:19) makes it part of the Great Com-

mission. Finally, it was also only after

the Resurrection that the holy Apostles

grasped the mystery of God’s work

through the Son. They understood

from the example of His crucifixion

that He has obeyed the Father unto

death and died on the Cross. This way,

they began to listen, to rejoice and to

preach the Gospel to all being, as com-

manded.

At this time, let us unleash from

our hearts the power of faith, and let

God renew us by love. Only when these

things are meet within us, shall we be

ready to take the next step and follow

Christ, to sacrifice. Reassured that our

salvation comes by witnessing

(Rom10,10), let us announce to all,

with joy that “Christ is risen”!

Paştele veacului ce va să fie este

„mai desăvârşit şi mai curat“. Cu puţin timp

înainte de moartea Sa, atunci când săvârşea

Paştele, la Cina cea de Taină, Hristos a

spus: “nu voi mai bea de acum din acest rod

al viţei până în ziua aceea când îl voi bea cu

voi, nou, întru împărăţia Tatălui

Meu” (Matei 26, 29). Fără îndoială, prin

aceste cuvinte, El vorbeste despre Paştele

Impărăţiei Cerurilor. Paştele vieţii de acum

este o ceremonie în comparaţie cu Paştele

veacului ce va să fie. Atunci, îngerii vor avea

mai multă comuniune cu Hristos, deoarece

Cuvântul va descoperi şi va învăţa „ceea ce

acum este învăţat numai în parte” (Sfântul

Grigorie Teologul).

Creştinii se nevoiesc pentru a trece de

la Paştile ca ceremonie la Paştile sfântului

har, iar de acolo, la Paştile veacului ce va să

fie. Aşadar, aceasta sărbătoare are un

înţeles şi un scop profund. Nici o altă

sărbătoare nu ţinteşte atât de sus şi nu

potoleşte setea şi foamea duhului omenesc.

În timpul sărbătoririi Paştelui

evreilor, se junghia un miel de un an nepri-

hănit şi fără meteahnă. Acesta era preînchi-

puirea mielului crestin, adică a lui Hristos,

Care este neprihănit şi desăvarşit. El S-a

jertfit şi Se dă pe Sine creştinilor pentru ca

aceştia să se unească cu El.

Profetul Isaia, vorbind despre patima

Domnului spune: "Chinuit a fost, dar S-a

supus şi nu şi-a deschis gura Sa; ca un miel

spre junghiere s-a adus şi ca o oaie fără de

glas înaintea celor ce o tund, aşa nu Şi-a

deschis gura Sa“- capitol messianic (Is. 53,

7). Deci, pentru creştini, Hristos devine

Mielul care Se jertfeşte pentru mântuirea

neamului omenesc. În Denia Prohodului se

spune: "Coasta Ţi-au împuns, mâinile Ţi-

au pironit, Stăpâne şi cu rana Ta din

coastă ai vindecat neînfrânarea mâinilor

strămoşilor".

Mielul jertfit şi mâncat de evrei

când serbau Paştile, era o prefigurare a

Mielului lui Dumnezeu Care ridica

păcatele lumii (Iesirea 12, 46) şi se oferă

ca hrană pentru viata vesnică. Sfântul

Apostol Pavel ne indeamnă să serbăm

Paştile într-o nouă perspectivă: "Iată

Hristos, Paştile nostru, S-a jertfit pentru

noi; să prăznuim, deci, nu cu aluatul cel

vechi, nici cu aluatul răutăţii şi al

vicleşugului, ci cu azimile curăţiei şi ale

adevărului" (I Cor. 5, 7-8).

Aşadar, creştinii nu sunt datori să

taie miei de Paşti, ci să depună tot efortul

pentru a se împărtaşi cu Trupul şi

Sângele lui Hristos, Mielul Pascal (jerfit

la Sf Altar), la Sf. Liturghii.

Lumina Învierii lui Hristos,

aşezată în centrul vieţii oamenilor, oferă

acestora atât un unic centru de referinţă,

precum şi calea de apropiere între ei. Cu

cât creşte apropierea oamenilor de

Dumnezeu, cu atât capătă consistenţă

unirea între ei. În această perspectivă,

toţi şi toate dobândesc folos. Familia se

întăreşte, neamul rămâne unit, duşmanii

se risipesc, Biserica se bucură şi

Dumnezeu este întru toate slăvit.

Cu nădejdea că lumina Învierii lui

Hristos cuprinde tot mai adânc şi cât mai

multe suflete, vă încredinţez pe toţi bine-

cuvântării, iertării şi iubirii lui

Dumnezeu. În faţa tuturor şi a fiecăruia

în parte, rostesc cu bucurie adevărul mâ-

ntuitor: HRISTOS A ÎNVIAT!, aşteptând

de la toţi mărturisirea şi răspunsul pas-

cal: ADEVĂRAT A ÎNVIAT HRISTOS!

Summer Camp is by God’s grace the crown

jewel of our Youth Ministry program. Our Pan-Orthodox camp has been flourishing since 1952. Our

schedule includes worship, swimming, sports, horseback riding, high and low ropes courses, religion

groups, campfires, candle making, crafts, presentations on missions, boating, and more! We are pleased

to have several priests along with an Orthodox nun to guide us throughout the week. With over 225

campers and 70 staff, we truly become an Orthodox community for seven days and six nights!

We rent Camp Wapogasset in Amery, Wisconsin. The camp is located just 75 minutes Northest

of St. Mary’s.

Summer Camp Dates: June 30-July 6, 2018

For 3rd through 12th graders in fall.

Orthodox Summer CAMPS

The camping programs offered by The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America

are an extension of the Church's sacred ministry to her young people. Students are given both

the knowledge and encouragement necessary to build a strong spiritual life which will be of

great benefit to them throughout the years to come.

The camps programs (at “Vatra Românească” Great Lakes, MI) currently scheduled

are:

Dear parishioners, friends and supporters, we reached the final stage of our parking

lot project. After the city’s approval (this month) we have to hire a company to finalize

the project. As you see, in the picture/ layout above, we will have an additional place

where to park our cars when we come to church. The “engineered design and plan”

costs us (the design, land survey , city permits and other functions to meet the city code

requirements) $12,200. In February at the General Meeting (Synod), we decided to go

forward with this project, which will cost us around $65,000 total.

We need your financial help to finalize this project. Please make donations toward it

(please mention on “memo” - parking lot project. We will come with more details soon,

but we are counting on your support.
