    Introduction

    Neam Country, guarded by a fortress of majestic mountains clothed in an amazing variety of

    trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, many of these monuments of nature , sprinkled with lakes andrivers that fill you with calm and hope, is one of the most attractive and desired relaxation places in

    the country.

    In the green bliss many species of animals find their shelter, from the environment of Neamtshelters, throughout the year, many species of birds like: the White stork( Ciconia ciconia), the

    Chaffinch( Fringilla coelebs), the Great Spotted Woodpecker ( Dendrocopus major), the GreenWoodpecker ( Picus viridis), the Grey-headed Woodpecker ( Picus canus), the Woodlark ( Lullula

    arborea), the western Capercaillie ( Tetrao urogallus), the Common Cuckoo ( Cuculus canorus),

    the Little Owl( Athene noctua), the Common Pheasant ( Phesianus colchius), the European/Common Starling ( Sturnus vulgaris), the Tawny Ow ( Trix aluco), , the European Robin

    ( Erithacus rubecula), the Common Blackbird ( Turdus merula), the Blue Tit ( Parus caeruleus),theSombre Tit ( Parus lugubris), the Marsh Tit ( Parus palustris), the Rock Bunting ( Emberiza cia),

    the Thrush Nightingale ( Luscinia luscina), the Hoopoe ( Upupa epops), the Barn Swallow

    ( Hirundo rusrica), the Mallard/wild Duck ( Anas platyrhynchos), the Eurasian Nuthatch ( Sittaeuropaea), the Whitethroat (Syvia communis), the Common Buzard( Buteo buteo), the House

    Tourists from all over the country and abroad in any time of year, being attracted by the

    hospitable environment, eager to enjoy every color and the scent of the mountains, to delightthemselves with the unequaled sound of forests musicians.

    Unfortunately, not all those enjoy the natural fascination understand that nature gives itself to us

    but we all wanted clean, healthy and beautiful. Thus, the serene and beautiful home of animalsbecomes many times desolate and repulsive, affecting even the health of the species.

    Birds, as any beings, build and embellish biodiversity. We know that the disappearance of everyone of the species perturbs the entire natural balance, and poisoning their environment with all kind

    of substances and waste endanger their extinction of a species may increase , with all catastrophiceffects. That is why the students of the Ecology Club from Childrens palace decided on a series of

    activities that contribute to the improvement of the living conditions and the perpetuating of the

    birds in the area.

    Project objective: protecting the birds in Neam area in order to stop the extinction of specimen

    from various species , the maintenance of biodiversity and the natural balance. Specific objectives:

    Knowing the bird species in the area;Forming the appropriate behavior of protecting the birds;Stimulating the interest for study and research in students;

    Expected results: Considering that many birds feed animals damaging to agriculture ( the Short-

    eared Owl ( Asio flammeus) eat annually almost 100 voles; a pair of Tit birds consume for feedingthe baby birds annually almost 80-100 kilos of insects and larvae of the Winter Moth ( Operophtera

    Brumata) that attacks apple trees), caring and sheltering them we will contribute to saving the cereal

    plants, the orchards and other it self plants. Also, it will be maintained the balance among birds,therefore in the natural and antrophogenic ecosystem, and the biodiversity will no longer suffer.

    2000 flyers and 500 brochures Befriend the birds will be spread in the schools in Piatra Neamt,the foun of the country and in some rural areas, thus awakening and stimulating in children and

    adults the interest in caring and protecting the birds in the area.

    Monitoring and evaluation will be made during the entire period of the reject by notingobservation forms:

    - observations related tonesting : the numbering type of nests; the species that occupied thenest; the beginning of the egg laying; the hatching; leaving the nest by the baby birds;

    - obsevations related to feedind; feeding preference of a species ; the number of visits to the

    nest by the parents to feed baby birds; if they bring food white people are around.

    Project sustainability: By attracting new partners 9 The other schools and high schools in PiatraNeamt; The Rescue service), broadening the target group with other students from the EcologyClub, by helping other volunteers to become aware we will continue the actions of caring for the

    create the optimum conditions and will stimulate children to participate in implementing theproject;

    Department, The Museum of Natural Sciences logistical support. Making flyers and
