***) Stroe Buzescu a fost acela care a trimis, imediat după decapitare, printr'un sol pe furiş, capul lui Mihai Viteazul la Târgovişte spre a fi depus în cavoul familiei delà íT)-rea Dealului. A muiit, în urma duelului cu cumnatul hanului tătărăsc. primind o r_nă la obraz.

Redăm, pentru frumuseţea şi duioşia lui, epitaful depe mormântu-i, delà Stăneşti, dictat . cuvânt cu cu­vânt ' de iubitoarea-i nevastă Sima:

Iară Simion Movilă, cu Turci, Tătari, Mol­doveni , Leşi, mulţi fără seamă, venisă din ţara Mol­dovei i e scoase pe Radu-Vodă şi pe Buzeşt i din ţara lor la ţara u n g u r e ^ c ă .

Iar atuucl merge jupanul Ştroe la împăratul nem­ţesc ca să ceară ajutor; de eşiră la ţara românească cu Radu-Vodă şi nu-i aştepta Simion Moghilă. Deci, s'au ridicat cu Leşi i şi Moldovenii şi Hanul cu mare oaste de Tătari, şi eşiră de se lovisă în gura Teiea^

jenului la Teişani, în luna lui Septembrie 14 zile, Luni dimineaţa până seara şi iăcusă năvală Marţi dimineaţa de trei ori de toate părţile. Iar jupanul Stroe, atâta n e v o i e pe creştini văzând, stătu împotriva Tătarilor, de se lovi cu Mârza, cumnatul Hanului, şi-1 înjunghie pe el. Şi dintr'acel răsboiu se răni la obraz şi pes te trei săptămâni i s e întâmplă moartea, în luna lui Oct. 2 z i le , v leat 7110 (1C02). Şi nu fu pe voia câinilor de Tătari ! Dumnezeu' l i erte! Scrisam eu, jupâneasa Sima a Strolnicului Stroe. Dacă voi muri, să mă îngropaţi lângă dumnealui aici!"
